About sunshine forest school

At Sunshine Forest School, we create meaningful outdoor learning experiences for children, young people, and educators. Rooted in true Forest School principles, our sessions are child-led, hands-on, and designed to support confidence, wellbeing, and a lifelong connection with nature.
We offer a wide range of provision to suit different ages, needs, and settings:

Forest School for Schools
We work in partnership with schools to bring high-quality Forest School provision to their pupils. Sessions can take place at our woodland site or on school grounds, and are tailored to support:

Curriculum enrichment
Personal development
Wellbeing and emotional regulation
Teamwork and social skills

We are experienced in supporting a wide range of learners, including those who may find traditional classroom environments challenging.

Stay & Play (Early Years)
Our Stay & Play sessions provide a relaxed, welcoming space for younger children and their caregivers to explore the outdoors together.
These sessions focus on:

Play-based learning
Sensory exploration
Building confidence in nature
Supporting early development in a calm, nurturing environment

Home Education Sessions
We offer regular Forest School sessions for home-educated children, providing opportunities to:

Learn through hands-on, real-life experiences
Develop practical and bushcraft skills
Build friendships and social confidence
Engage with nature in a meaningful way

Alternative Provision

We are now regsitered with DCC as a local provider to provide bespoke alternative provision for children and young people who need a different approach to learning.
Our sessions support:

Emotional wellbeing and self-regulation
Confidence and resilience
Engagement with learning
Positive relationships with adults and peers

We work closely with schools, families, and other professionals to create supportive, individualised programmes.

We are passionate about sharing the Forest School ethos with others and supporting adults to take learning outdoors.
We offer:

Taking Learning Outside

At the heart of everything we do is a belief that learning doesn’t have to be confined to four walls.
We support schools and educators to:

Use outdoor spaces creatively
Build confidence in outdoor teaching
Embed experiential learning approaches
Reconnect children with the natural world

Whether it’s a child’s first muddy adventure or a teacher’s first step outside the classroom, we’re here to support meaningful learning in nature.
