Alternative Provision at Sunshine Forest School
At Sunshine Forest School, we provide bespoke alternative provision for children and young people who may not be thriving in mainstream education.
We understand that some learners need a different approach, one that is flexible, relational, and rooted in real experiences. Our Forest School environment offers a calm, supportive space where children can rebuild confidence, develop trust, and re-engage with learning.
Our sessions are carefully tailored to meet individual needs and may support:
Through hands-on, meaningful activities such as fire lighting, den building, tool use, and woodland crafts, children experience success, develop resilience, and begin to see themselves as capable learners again.
For those who feel overwhelmed, disengaged, or unsuccessful in traditional settings, Forest School offers space to breathe, reset, and reconnect with themselves, with others, and with learning.
In the woodland, there is no pressure to “fit in” or “keep up”. Instead, children are supported to move at their own pace, build trust, and experience success in ways that feel meaningful to them.
We focus on relationships first. From there, confidence grows, barriers begin to reduce, and learning naturally follows.
